    Hi guys,

Here's the pre-installed profiles as currently programmed on the SOLunar Controller as of today (09 Dec. 2014). If you have any questions on these cycles, please let me know!

    Cheers,

All of these profiles are now pre-set in v4.06! If you have an earlier version of the SOLunar and would like to get them all installed on your unit, please contact me for arrangements. A big thank-you to all who sent me feedback and suggestions on what you wanted to see in photoperiod cycles!

I've designed these new profiles to provide a variety of useful options to both reef- and plantkeepers, and for both single channel and Multi-Channel fixtures. You'll notice that I have a suggestion on how to run the color channels for MC units--this is a suggestion based on the dawn/dusk cycle, but feel free to switch channels around and play with it!

You'll also notice that many of these profiles contain commands for power relays--this is because our next product launch will be the power relay accessory for the SOLunar, which will allow you to programmably to on/off the electronics plugged in to up to three power relay ports...so you can control CO2 solenoids, power heads, calcium reactors, or just switch your lights on and off. No firm date for this product launch yet, but I wanted the software in place to support it when it's ready!

As always, if you have any issues, questions, or difficulties, please get in touch with me at 512-382-5881 so we can resolve the issues as quickly as possible. If you notice any differences between my posted profiles here, please let me know as well--I tested all of these, but am not the programmer so minor differences may have occurred upon entry. And to each and every SOLunar user who has contacted me with feedback--both positive and critical--THANK YOU. Your responses help us build better products, and I look forward to continuing to work with you.

And now--here's hoping this is the last software upgrade! (It's always worth hoping, right? :) )

    Cheers,

    Nicely done! Thank you Cara.
I'm still playing with the Cloud thing. I'll let you know.

Thanks, Rod! Let me know what you find...now that I have the testing and troubleshooting down on v4.06 I'll have time to test it out myself.

    You're welcome Cara,
Is there a way that I could download and install v4.06? I've got v4.03 now.
The last time that I tried to upgrade Randy and I could not get the driver to work for me and I ended up sending the unit back to you folks.

Thanks again for all the help,

    Me again,
    What's channel 0?
  13. Cara@BML Moderator

Good question, because I think this one isn't in the instructions and it's a good trick to know--Channel 0 is all three channels. So if you want to execute the same command for all three channels, Ch0 will allow you to do it all at once without writing it out three times.

I can send you the flash, but there's something going on with v4.03 where it doesn't want to recognize the unit once you've locked it up...and I'm loathe to send v4.06 back to our programmer in case while fixing this he breaks something else. The easiest thing will probably be to send it back to me for a hard wipe/re-flash here.

    Thanks,

    Cara

Thanks for a quick reply. Channel 0 will be a great help.
I had problems trying to flash the last time. Driver issues.
Is there any difference between 4.03 and 4.06 other than the pre-programed profiles?
If there is no major advantage then I can program based on the profiles that you have posted in this thread. ( Great Job there )
Would the newer version allow my original and MC fixtures to share a channel without issues ?

    Hi Rod,

I'm not a fan of the remote flashes, they're simply not user-friendly enough. If v4.03 is working well for you and you'd prefer not to send it in for a re-flash then feel free to steal the profiles and set them yourself as that will be the big difference for yours. Of course if you do have any issues please let me know so I can help!

    Cheers,

Hi Cara, I've sent a few emails and never heard back, basically I was inquiring about the lowest % the blue will go (for moonlighting) and you had said you'd get back to me after talking to Randy. Second, I've asked several times for the flash update to the controller, can you please get back to me?
  17. Cara@BML Moderator

    Hi Rob,

Sorry about that! The blue goes down to about 3-4% and then shuts off. Because with an MC fixture you're controlling the channel independently, only every third LED will be on and dimmed to that level, so even 10% appears far dimmer than with the non-MC spectrums where every LED is dimmed to the same level.

I'll send you the flash files, but as mentioned above, I don't find this remote flash technique easy or user-friendly so if you have any issues we'll want to get the controller module back in and I'll re-flash it here.

    Cheers,

    Cara,
this probably reveals my personality, but is there a limit to the number of events in a profile? The max I could enter was 23. That included on/off cycles for the relays.
